Reliable EVs That Qualify for CleanBC Go Electric Rebates
Which electric vehicles qualify in BC, price caps, income testing, and how provincial and federal incentives stack.
CleanBC Go Electric is British Columbia's provincial rebate program for zero-emission vehicles. It is income-tested and capped by vehicle price, and funding levels have changed several times — so treat any list of "eligible" vehicles as a shortlist to verify, not a guarantee.
How CleanBC Go Electric works
- New ZEVs only — battery-electric, long-range plug-in hybrids and hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles bought or leased new from a participating BC dealer.
- Income tested — the rebate amount scales down as household income rises, and above the top threshold it drops to zero.
- MSRP cap — vehicles above the program's price ceiling are excluded regardless of income.
- Applied at the dealer — you pre-qualify online, then the rebate comes off the purchase price.
- BC residency and a valid BC driver's licence are required.
Always confirm your amount on the official CleanBC Go Electric pre-qualification page before you commit — program budgets are periodically paused or revised.

Compact and commuter
- Hyundai Kona Electric — efficient, proven, easy to live with in Vancouver.
- Chevrolet Equinox EV — strong value per km of range.
- Nissan Leaf — affordable city EV; check charging standard before buying.
Family crossovers
- Hyundai Ioniq 5 — 800 V architecture, very fast charging, excellent reliability record.
- Kia EV6 / EV9 — same platform family; EV9 adds three rows.
- Tesla Model 3 / Model Y — best charging network in BC; check the current MSRP cap for the trim you want.
- Toyota bZ4X / Subaru Solterra — conservative engineering, AWD versions suit the Sea-to-Sky.
- Volkswagen ID.4 — comfortable, quiet, roomy.
Plug-in hybrids (electric range matters)
- Toyota RAV4 Prime / Prius Prime
- Kia Sportage PHEV / Hyundai Tucson PHEV
- Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV
PHEVs qualify only when their electric range meets the program threshold, and the rebate is usually smaller than for a full battery-electric vehicle.
Stacking with the federal program
